On January 17th, the 12th Fish & Dragon Festival and the 2026 Chinese Spring Festival Cultural Event co-hosted by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Barbados and the Central Bank of Barbados was successfully held at the Carifesta House, which attracted more than 7000 local people and tourists from abroad who were in attendance.

The event commenced with the national anthems of the People’s Republic of China and Barbados. The Chinese Embassy, the Chinese Community in Barbados, the Confucius Institute at the UWI Cave Hill Campus, the Chinese Medical Team, Chinese Companies in Barbados, Association of Barbados-China Friendship and the Barbados China Returned Scholars Association each set up booths showcasing Chinese Spring Festival culture and highlighting the achievements of China–Barbados friendly cooperation. Art groups delivered spectacular performances, drawing waves of cheers and applause from the audience and creating a warm and festive atmosphere.
