On September 5, Mr. Lei Hao, Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of China in Barbados, and Mr. Webster, Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Wellness of Barbados, signed the protocol on the dispatch of the Chinese medical team to Barbados on behalf of the two countries. Mr. Lei and Mr. Pinder, Acting Chief Operations Officer of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, addressed the signing ceremony respectively. The event was attended by the staff of the Embassy, the head of the 7th Chinese medical team, the representatives of the Ministry of Health and Wellness of Barbados, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the media.

Counsellor Lei Hao pointed out that since 2016, China has sent 7 batches of 56 medical personnel to work in Barbados, which has been highly recognized by the Barbadian side and become a symbol of the friendship between China and Barbados. The new batch of medical team will continue to contribute to Barbados' medical and health services.

Mr. Pinder thanked China for its long-term strong support and selfless assistance to Barbados in the field of medical care and spoke highly of the professionalism and dedication of the 7th Chinese medical team.
