Welcome to the website of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Barbados.

Barbados, located where the Caribbean meets the Atlantic sea, is a well known paradise island and tourist destination, playing an important role in the region.

Barbados was the first country in the Eastern Caribbean to establish diplomatic relations with China and has remained a good friend and close partner of China in the region. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1977, the bilateral ties have maintained a sound momentum of growth. The two countries have carried out fruitful cooperation in such areas as economy and trade, culture, education and health care, setting an example of mutual respect, equality, mutual benefit and common development between countries of different sizes. In June 2023, Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley successfully visited China. The leaders of both countries reached a series of important consensuses on further deepening China-Barbados political mutual trust and the expansion of practical cooperation which provide guidance for future development of bilateral relations.

We are committed to promoting friendly exchanges and cooperation between China and Barbados. We sincerely hope that this website will serve as a window for understanding China and China-Barbados relations, and act as a bridge to enhance the friendship between our two peoples.

Thank you for your interest in and support for China-Barbados relations. Your comments and suggestions are always welcomed.

.
