Summary of Bilateral Cultural Exchanges Between China and Barbados

(1) In June 1980, The Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of Barbados concluded the Cultural Agreement Between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of Barbados to encourage and support exchanges and cooperation between the relevant institutions of the two countries in the field of culture, education, science and technology, public health, sports, publication, the press, broadcasting, film and television.

(2) In November 1984, The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Barbados and the Barbados National Cultural Foundation jointly held The Chinese Books Exhibition at the Queen's Park Gallery. On exhibits were Chinese books, paintings and paper-cuts. Around 1,700 people visited the exhibition.

(3) In January 1986, The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Barbados and the Barbados Investment & Development Corporation jointly held The Chinese Arts And Crafts Exhibition in Bridgetown. The Governor General of Barbados, Sir Hugh Springer attended the exhibition and cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony. Around 3,000 people visited the exhibition.

(4) In September 1996, The China Dalian Youth Acrobatic Troupe visited Barbados and gave performances to the Barbadian people.

(5) In June 1997, The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Barbados held the Photographs Exhibition on China's Achievements at the Sherboune Conference Centre.

(6) In September 1998, The China Acrobatic Troupe visited Barbados and gave performances to the Barbadian people.
