On October 24, 2025, Ambassador Zheng Bingkai paid a courtesy call on Brigadier Carlos Lovell, Chief of Staff of the Barbados Defence Force (BDF).

Ambassador Zheng introduced the guiding principles from the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and stated that in recent years, the two militaries have maintained close interactions, with exchanges and cooperation continuing to expand, contributing to the development of the bilateral relations. China is willing to work with the Barbadian side to further deepen exchanges and cooperation, and elevate the friendly relations between the two countries to a new height.

Chief of Staff Carlos Lovell warmly welcomed Ambassador Zheng’s assumption of office, spoke highly of Barbados-China relations, and thanked China for its long-term assistance and support to Barbados. The Barbadian side is willing to work with China to further strengthen mutual learning, and deepen the relations between the two countries and their militaries.

The two sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual concern.
