On August 6th, H.E. Zheng Bingkai, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Barbados, arrived in Barbados to assume office. He was welcomed by Miss. Jade Blenman, Foreign Service Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados, as well as representatives of diplomats from the Chinese Embassy.

Ambassador Zheng said it is a great honor to assume the position of ambassador to the beautiful Caribbean island nation of Barbados. Barbados is an important country in the Caribbean and also a good friend and good partner of China in this region. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1977, China-Barbados relations have continued to deepen and develop and fruitful results have been yielded in cooperation in various fields. He looks forward to working with friends from all walks of life in Barbados to lift the bilateral relations to a new high and benefit the two countries and two peoples.

Miss. Brenman, on behalf of the Barbadian side, warmly welcomed Ambassador Zheng, stating that Barbados attaches great importance to developing relations with China and will provide all the necessary convenience and support for him.
