To further facilitate visa applicants, from now until December 31, 2026, Chinese visa-issuing authorities abroad will exempt all applicants for short-term visas with a stay of no more than 180 days from fingerprint collection.

Applicants for visas that require the processing of residence permits after entry, including D, J, Q1, S1, X1, and Z visas, will still have their fingerprints collected in accordance with relevant regulations.
