On  November 8, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Barbados  held a reception to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Association for  Barbados-China Friendship (ABCF). Around 90 attendees, including Mr.  Tyson Henry, Chief Information Officer at the Barbados Government  Information Service and Dr. DeLisle Worrell, President of the ABCF,  participated in the event.

Chargé  d'Affaires a.i Huang Xinhua noted that, Chinese President Xi Jinping  pointed out in his meeting with foreign guests attending the China  International Friendship Conference and Events Marking the 70th  Anniversary of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with  Foreign Countries that people-to-people friendship is the foundation for  stable and sustained international relations, an inexhaustible driving  force for promoting world peace and development, and a basic  prerequisite for win-win cooperation. The friendship between China and  Barbados could not have been deepened without the long-term efforts and  selfless dedication of the ABCF and other Chinese and Barbadian friends.

The  participants highly praised the bilateral relations,  especially people-to-people friendship, and expressed their  willingness to make more contribution in deepening friendly  exchanges with China and  building a closer China-Barbados community with a shared future.
