On August 21, 2024, H. E. Yan Xiusheng, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Barbados met with the Honourable Mr. Leslie Haynes, Chief Justice of Barbados. 

Ambassador Yan provided Chief Justice Haynes with a detailed briefing on the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Chinese Modernization, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative. Ambassador Yan also offered a comprehensive overview of China’s developmental achievements, history, and culture. The two sides engaged in extensive discussions on enhancing judicial exchanges and cooperation between China and Barbados, as well as on other issues of mutual concern.
