The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Barbados held the 10th Fish & Dragon Festival and the 2024 Chinese Spring Festival Cultural Event

On January 20th, the 10th Fish & Dragon Festival and the 2024 Chinese Spring Festival Cultural Event co-hosted by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Barbados and the Central Bank of Barbados was successfully held at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium Complex, which attracted more than 5000 local people and tourists from abroad who were in attendance.

The event commenced with the national anthems of both the People’s Republic of China and Barbados. H.E. Yan Xiusheng, the Chinese Ambassador to Barbados and Mr. Alwyn Jordon, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados marked the lions’ eyes. The Chinese Embassy, the Chinese Community in Barbados, the Confucius Institute of the U.W.I. Cave Hill Campus, Chinese Medical Team and Chinese companies in Barbados separately set up booths to introduce the Chinese Spring Festival culture and highlight the achievements of China-Barbados friendly cooperation. Art groups presented a spectacular performance,which attracted waves of cheers and applause from the audience and created a warm and festive atmosphere.
