On March 7th, H.E. Yan Xiusheng, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Barbados met with the Hon. Ronald Jones, Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Barbados. Mr. Zou Xi, Political Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Barbados, Mr. Zhang Xiu, Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Barbados and Senator Harcourt Husbands, Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Education of Barbados also attended the meeting.
Ambassador Yan and Minister Jones together reviewed the fruitful achievements that have been made in all areas especially in the educational and cultural sectors between China and Barbados since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries 41 years ago. They agreed to work together to push the mutual beneficial projects forward and deepen the cooperation between China and Barbados under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative so as to realize an improved and innovative development of the bilateral relationship.
Ambassador Yan briefed Minister Jones on the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the first China International Import Expo as well. The two sides also exchanged views on other mutual interests.
